Deposit Fees
A deposit fee is a percentage of the staking tokens a farm contract actually receives.
#How the fee is calculated
WeedChef measures the token balance before and after transfer. It applies the pool’s basis-point fee to that received amount, then credits received amount minus fee as user principal. This avoids crediting tokens the contract did not receive.
#Where the fee goes
A nonzero fee is passed to FeeSplitter. The current contract split is 75% to the configured protocol-owned-liquidity recipient and 25% to the maintenance/community recipient. Recipient changes are scheduled behind the splitter’s configured delay.
#Fee cap
WeedChef rejects a pool configuration above 4%. The cap limits the parameter but does not make a nonzero fee harmless. Always check the exact farm value before signing.
#Configured launch farms
| Farm | Configured deposit fee | Current phase |
|---|---|---|
| WEED / USDG | 0% | Not active |
| WEED / WETH | 0% | Not active |
| WETH / USDG | 4% | Not active |
| Stake WEED | 0% | Not active |
These values are repository configuration for inactive pools. They are not fees currently charged to users. WETH / USDG is the only configured launch farm with a nonzero deposit fee.
#Withdrawals are different
WeedChef does not automatically apply the pool’s deposit fee to a normal withdrawal. A withdrawal returns the credited principal, which already excludes any fee taken at entry. Network costs and underlying position behavior remain separate.
#Before signing
- Confirm the pool and staking-token addresses.
- Check the requested amount, received-token behavior, fee percentage, and expected credited amount.
- Verify both fee recipients from deployment evidence.
- Reject a transaction if the wallet data differs from the reviewed farm configuration.
